The Scuola Normale Superiore announces a selection, based on work to date and interview, for a research contract as part of the project “Value conflicts in a differentiated Europe: The impact of digital media on value Polarisation in Europe”, acronym ValCon, Volkswagenstiftung call 2019 “Challenges for Europe” to be filled by 01 02 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position is for 30 months
Job content
ValCon is coordinated by Prof. Monika Eigmüller (Flensburg), Prof. Hans-Jörg Trenz (SNS), and Prof. Juan Díez Medrano (UC3M). The project will examine the role of digital social & news media in creating political value polarization among citizens & in promoting the rise of populism in Europe. It includes a comparative survey in 6 countries & qualitative analysis of debates conducted through digital media.
